Smashbox Photofinish Primer Water

On YouTube, I have seen many makeup gurus use this product and their makeup is just absolutely flawless!! So I was excited to see the Boots in Central London had a Smashbox counter….the first thing I had to get hold of, was this.

I am only using this as a primer and I have noticed it has helped stop my makeup from “sliding” off my face.  I prefer to use this for foundation that are heavy in coverage rather than light coverage or powder foundations.  I just prefer to use this with really creamy foundations, that tend to make my skin oily throughout the day.  I have made the mistake of applying too much to my skin and later on regretting it, as it made my skin feel very tight and dehydrated.  After applying the primer, I wait a couple of minutes for it to set into my skin, before applying foundation.

The packaging is lovely and simple, I have a slight problem with the nozzle, you have to spray quite a few times to cover your face..  The best nozzle for me hands down is Mac Fix+ in two quick sprays, my face is done, love it!

I have used this just as a setting spray a few times but I didn’t see it help make my makeup last longer than other setting sprays I own, so I just stick to wearing this as a primer.

Overall, this primer is…okay.  I’m not so excited about it, I thought it would be AMAZING! But..I’m not so convinced. I much prefer the Smashbox Photofinish Foundation Primer than this. I will continue to use this product but I don’t think I will repurchase again.  I think it will be great for the summer, for that refreshed makeup look.

Have you tried this? Or do you have a primer that you absolutely love?
